Part 8 of family trip-activities for a 4yr old

Since we have almost 37hrs road time, I needed to make sure my daughter was going to be well occupied when she wasn't sleeping. So I borrowed a DVD player and of course I was able to snag a couple of my daughters favorite movies because of coupons: dawn of dinosaur, land before time, etc. I also got 11 of her favorite cd's to take and thanks to a yard sale I found a felt book for her to make up stories with elmo.
In the picture below-I have her a doodle pad & a doodle pad for letters, use dry erase markers, color books, puzzles (these are wood puzzles found at $tree), card games, stickers, and her favorite reading books though I collected these without her knowing so there is only 2 that she has read.
In bottom picture all of these were collected the last few months at the $tree. Sticker & activity books, preschool workbooks-numbers, colors, abc, etc. Card games-2 different ones per box, Dry erase wipe booklets which are for colors and numbers and also there is a notebook as well.
As I have said before I have been getting ready for our trip since November and with the holidays I made sure everyone gave her something that can be taken on our trip. I think the whole kit and kaboodle of this collection has been close to $130.xx though most expensive items was the cd's and that was a splurge.
Here is a detail list of items and I have broken it down on how I found the best items for these deals and the prices that I think most should be spent on.

Now  I do feel that there is sometimes that you can splurge for something. Why, you may ask couponing does save and as long as I have been doing it, it has allowed me to have wigglee room to splurge on at least one item.
So our one time splurged was a set of cd's named Psalty, the singing blue book  for $100.xx  12 of them
Reason:
  1. I grew up with Psalty the singing song book and love what they teach
  2. Psalty teaches bible verses in songs
  3. There is always a moral story that goes along with what they are singing
  4. It is very catch and most of them are action songs.
Well more later going to play tea party now :)
