Event 1 1/2hr from Sterling.....Ash Hollow Historical Pageant

           Will also have to have a state park pass...$5 daily.

Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13, 2015 the annual Ash Hollow Historical Pageant will be performed at 6:30 p.m. at Ash Hollow State Historical Park, located on Highway 26, southeast of Lewellen. 

The regional cast and live band are looking forward to sharing the experience of traveling The Oregon Trail using original diary excerpts belonging to those who made the journey. “Don’t Give Up My Brothers – Celebrating the Pioneering Spirit,” follows Hans Hoth and Helen Carpenter. Hoth, was a Mormon recruited to join the new church in the Salt Lake Valley. Carpenter, a newlywed, travels with her family set out for California.
As always, there will also be a chuck wagon supper featuring roast beef prepared by J and R Barbecuing, cabbage salad, baked beans and of course, the fresh, delicious, right out of the fryer, fry bread! Dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and will conclude with the beginning of the performance. All are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the rich history of this area as well as the beautiful surrounding scenery.
