Family Adventure-RailFest, North Platte NB

Field trips are always fun for us though goodness I need to invest in a stock pile of tennis shoes it seems after just a few trips I am on the hunt for another pair of them. Last weekend was one of those wonderful trips, we went to Railfest in North Platte, NB and I  highly recommend for anyone near by to head over there next year it was one educational trip. We were able to watch pancakes being cooked on a turn table

Take a tour of the worlds largest rail yard..

K is so excited, she doesn't know what to watch first...the train behind her was only a few feet from our bus.

Here we got to watch the workers jack the cars up and change the wheels...this took 5min instead of 2 hrs.

With so much to do it was hard to remember to take pictures and there was something for everyone. A few other highlights was Carnival rides and games for the family, a quilt show, a display of model railroads and riding the trains. Majority of these events and tours were free or really discounted price. Though seriously if you know of a good shoe sale, please let me know I need to stock up on them. :)
