HALF-DAY CLASSES (Ages 4-6)

Bug Hunt
June 11
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 2 – 4 p.m.

Thousands of insects are doing strange and wonderful things right now—we’re calling all young scientists to grab a net, a jar, and a magnifying glass and discover the secret lives of insects in Butterfly Pavilion’s backyard!
$15 (per two-hour class)

Bugs around the World
June 17
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 2 – 4 p.m.
Ages: 4 to 6
It’s “around the world in eighty days”... with bugs! Young scientists will discover which cultures eat grasshoppers, which country kept crickets as pets, and why dung beetles are special!
$15 (per two-hour class)

Secrets of the Butterfly Pavilion
June 18
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 2 – 4 p.m.
Ages: 4 to 6
Young scientists will step into the shoes of a zookeeper and help care for Butterfly Pavilion’s amazing but tiny animals, and learn what Rosie does when she’s not walking on our visitors’ hands!
$15 (per two-hour class)

A Bug’s Life Series
Thursdays, June 12 – July 3
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Ages: 4 to 6
This series explores the amazing world of invertebrates, focusing on a different animal each week. Young scientists will explore, wonder, and investigate through the use of games, art, and live animal encounters!
$50 (full series)

ONE-DAY CLASSES (Ages 10-14)

Fly Fishing Adventures

June 9, 16, 23, and/or 30
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 10 to 14
Don’t let this fun summer experience be the “one that got away!” Young scientists will discover why the right bug will attract big bites! Gear provided by Angling University. Camp includes afternoon fishing session at Westminster Pond.
$75 (per day)
Early drop off and late pick up options: $5 per child per day


WEEK-LONG CAMPS (Ages 5 – 10)
NOTE:  Campers will be split into two groups – 5-6 year olds and 7-10 year olds

Bugabilities
June 23 – 27
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 5 to 10 (split by age)
Come one, come all, and experience the wonders of the bug kingdom through games, crafts, and live animal interactions! Your young scientist will discover the unique adaptations of animals such as insects, spiders, crustaceans, and more. 
$130 (half day; morning only) / $245 (full day)

Aquatic Investigators – NEW!
July 7 – 11
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 5 to 10 (split by age)

Adventure into the wet and wild world of water! In this camp participants will determine how animals find and use water, and explore the properties of water through games and experiments, including a special hunt for aquatic animals in Big Dry Creek and Westminster Pond.

Bug Science – NEW!
July 14 – 18
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 5 to 10 (split by age)
Does your child love science? Do they always wonder how things work? This camp is for them! We’ll engage the senses and put on our lab coats to discover how chemistry, physics, and more influence the world—and the bugs—all around us.
$130 (half day; morning only) / $245 (full day)

Nature Explorers
July 21 – 25
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 5 to 10 (split by age)
Young scientists will explore the wild and wonderful world outdoors and learn about Colorado ecosystems and wildlife. They’ll take hikes, keep a nature journal, learn how animals find food, water, and shelter, and have fun outdoors while creating a lasting connection to local habitats!
$130 (half day; morning only) / $245 (full day)

Bugs and Brushes
July 28 – August 1
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
Ages: 5 to 10 (split by age)

Imagination and creativity are must-haves during this fun arts-and-crafts camp! Using nature, animals, games, and folktales for artistic inspiration, your child is sure to bring home a unique, artistic masterpiece!

Bugabilities/Winged Wonders
August 4 – 8
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. 
or
9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (half day, Bugabilities only)
1 – 4 p.m. (half day, Winged Wonders only)
Come one, come all and experience the wonders of the bug kingdom through games, crafts, and live animal interactions in Bugabilities morning camp! After, young scientists will join special guest Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory for outdoor explorations, hikes, scavenger hunts, crafts, and nature journaling to explore bird behavior, adaptations, and habitats in this “sky high” afternoon summer camp.
