Recipe of the Day-Ham Chowder

This was the wonderful smell cooking in my house today....Yummy. Almost done and I can make a special delivery for it to my folks. :)

Ham Chowder
 ***4 servings****
2 cups and 2 T of chicken stock (can use ham stock)
1 cup and 1 T cubed ham
1 T and 1/4 tsp of dried rosemary (can use fresh 2 sprigs)
9oz of bacon, diced
1/2 large onions, diced
3/4 clove garlic, minced
1 1/2 green onions
1 1/2 large potatoes, cubed
1/4 lb carrots, cubed
1/3 c and 1T heavy cream

Pour stock into a large pot set over medium heat, and bring to simmer. Stir in the cubed ham and 1 sprig of rosemary or half of dried.

In large skillet over medium heat, cook diced bacon until crisp. With slotted spoon remove bacon and add to pot. Drain half of the bacon grease and return skillet to medium heat. Stir in onions, garlic and green onions; cook until tender, then add to pot

Place cubed potatoes, carrots and rest of rosemary in pot, simmer until vegetables are tender about 20min. turn off heat and add cream to pot.  ENJOY!!
