Recipe for the Day-Homemade ketchup

We love making things from scratch some turn out while others, well others that it to be another story.
I have tried several recipes for making ketchup and so far I haven't found the one we like. The other day I was in the grocery store and stumbled on a Create your own Ketchup packet from Mrs. Wages.

I tell you this became a winner in our house.

Ketchup
1-Mrs. Wages Ketchup mix   ($2.49 at the store)
6lbs fresh tomatoes or 6 cans (14.5oz) petite diced tomatoes
1 c white vinegar
1 (6oz) can tomato paste
1 1/2c sugar

If you are using fresh which we did. Wash and Peel your tomatoes then cut out the seeds and then use a food processor to make it into a pulp or you can leave seeds in and strain later.
Placed Crushed tomatoes into a saucepan and bring to boil, stir frequently. Reduce heat and simmer for 25min.
Combine tomato paste and vinegar and bring to a boil, stir frequently. Slowly add in sugar and ketchup mix to hot juice until dispersed. Reduce heat and simmer 5min. Ketchup is ready.

Freeze it for 1yr

Can it-pour into hot sterilize pint jars and process for 40min.

Serve it-let it cool, refrigerate for 30min, keeps for 1 week
