I have been away-find out where.
The last few days have been crazy for me and I had to take a break away from things and clear my head. So on Thursday I had the opportunity to drive my mom down to her moms which was 3 1/2hrs away in Kansas. This was a day trip, oh boy what a drive about 7hrs on the road. It was one of those trips I really didn't want to do under the circumstance that we were going down there for, but in exchange for me doing this my folks took my family to the Denver Mile High Flea Market. Friday I was scrambling to house clean and catch up with the Garden. Then on Saturday we went to the Market.
I tell you this money saver lost her marbles I literally forgot to shop and there was loads of deals. It wasn't until the temperature starting getting hot and it hit me I was almost through the entire market and not bought a thing. K was the one who really out done mom, she was on a mission and found what she wanted. So off she went with this lady bartering back and forth.
She came to me and said look what I got for $1-a transformer, 3 piece Dr. play set, a journal, fancy nancy book and a tote bag. I knew the lady was asking $.50 for everything there so she really worked the deal out. I did eventually find a set of 20 phonic books for k for $2, really this was all. Until my Dad found this in the market then my brain really kicked in.
Now for $30.xx this is only half of the produce, we split it all and I am so glad.
This Monster of watermelon sent all of us girls into squeals I tell you. This thing is Huge and $6 bucks to boot. Thank goodness we had our little red wagon to haul them in.
The next Oh my goodness that we found was this monster of a cantaloupe (we did buy 2) for $2ea
The next thing we end up getting and splitting was a big bag of cherries for $4, 5 large green peppers, 8 red apples for 4/$1 and 2 large package of blueberries (another squeal for us girls) $2 was well spent on ea of those containers.
I am so glad I went and I tell you it is one for the books that I am going to go back now that I got my marbles and the shock wore off. I will definitely get more pictures for sure.
After the flea market, we ended up scouting out a discount lumber place, another OH my goodness place.
By this time it was time to find lunch so we headed out to the Chick-O-Fli place and Look at who showed up at our Table. Oh my goodness I tell you we were head over in laughter when the cow showed up. This silly cow even scared little k to death. He decided he wanted to play in the play area, so he was greeting the kids at the end of the slide. When she came down and met him. She wiped out two kids trying to climb back up the slide to get away. They did eventually make up though she informed us No more COWS, please.
What a fun day we did have and so thankful a day of rest is upon us.
So on that note our week has ended and now time to re-coop and get ready to start another fun week.
