I do have to say I love getting bountiful baskets for one it makes a great education lesson for everyone. One of the items that we got this time was a coconut and the questions went flying everything from what it is to where it came from. So k got a lesson on the coconut afterwards I asked her should we crack it open. K's response I really want to get papa to do it. So off to grandpas we went.
K got her a pan to put her coconut in and then talked grandpa in to helping. Let me tell you it was quit an experience for everyone and personally I am glad I don't get these very often. None of us really had much experience on cracking a coconut.
Here k is helping grandpa crack the coconut and giving advice where to hit. Once there was a hole it was on to see if we can get the milk out in order to not make a huge mess.
5min later still working on getting most of the milk out. After we finally got the milk out k was trying to convince herself to even try the milk which she found to her surprise she did enjoy it. Then it was off to inspect the shell and I do say there wasn't one piece she didn't inspect and questions like Why does it have fur? Why is their veins? Is it hard when it is on tree? Some of the questions I had to tell her we would google later, thanks to google.
Then it was on to inspect the white part and try it and I was informed eating it that way wasn't very appealing, so we stuffed it in a bag to take home to cook. I will be posting later of what we made of this coconut. I do have to say the look on ks face was worth every penny of this adventure and one that I know will not be forgotten.
