Renovation Shopping Trip-spent $83.37, Saved $37.41
Like I said before...couponing and savings is our lifestyle. So this just doesn't apply to just our groceries, personal products, clothes, etc. It even extends to our renovations, so on that note. How in the World Do I do that? Well for starters thank the Lord I have a place to store items so I can start squirreling things away. The Fun starts when I call my lovely parents to help sort out ideas and to improve them, especially since they are great with these projects. Then we start gathering a list of items that we know we will definitely need.
So our projects this year-haul in rock, put in a clothesline, move a fence, fix a floor joist, east side of house needs siding and two new windows, and then there is a garage-3 windows put in, side two sides of it and then put in electricity. Then inside the house we have two bedrooms to finish-one bedroom just needs trim, install shelving and painted. The other one needs the floor fix (since we have to cut into it to fix the floor joist), remove a window and install a built in, finish trim and install closet doors, build a built in for toys, paint, etc. We have also a list of tools that needs to be rented, replaced or we just need to have on hand since we have borrowed tools in the past.
Now with that in mind...I thought I would be sharing with you my little insider tips of how we save $$ on these projects.
