Big News: The 4th annual CurrClick Earth Day Science Fair now costs only $7 to enter, down from $20 last year.
Includes 3 coaching sessions with the science fair coach of your
choosing, plus entry into the science fair and a chance to win prizes!
And that's not all! This year CurrClick's Earth Day Science Fair will be sponsored by Great Homeschool Conventions and Practical Homeschooling Magazine.
These sponsors will be helping to get the word out so that the
student's work and effort get lots of attention! We will also be
bringing on 2 fantastic judges: A representative from Elemental Science and one from Apologia. More details on the judges and sponsors to come.
Enrollment will become available by Friday, February 1st so keep checking back.
Here's How it
Works:
You will meet with your coach in a group setting 3 times in our live
class environment. Your coach will help you choose a project and will
teach you about what's important in a good science fair project. They
will help give you feedback and guidance. You will also get a chance to
encourage your teammates and get feedback from them.
Come to the
first team meeting with some ideas about what you would like to do for
your science fair project. Helpful resources will be uploaded your team
homepage. Here is a link with all sorts of science project ideas to get
you started: <http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/>
There
are other teams competing against you! All the science projects will be
scored individually. Individual points will contribute to an overall
team score so you can help your team win. (See below to find out about
scoring and categories.)
On Earth Day 2013, which is Monday April
15th, students will need to have a video of their
science fair project uploaded to CurrClick’s Youtube Channel. Your
teacher will e-mail you instructions. You or your parents must be
capable of creating a video and uploading it to the internet in order to
participate. The focus of our coaches must be on the science. If you
cannot film or upload a video, this science fair is not for you. Science
Fair Project Videos must include: A video demonstration of and
explanation of the project. You (and not your parents) must do the
talking and explaining.
Be sure and wear your team colors! Please
mention your age, first name, grade, and your team color on in the
video Videos should not be more than 4 minutes long
Videos need to be posted by April 15th and the finalist’s videos will
be posted and voted on April 22nd-26th. Winners will be announced
Friday, April 26th.
