So I thought I would share with you...What happens when know your ads, etc??
I made a run for the Walmart with coupons for 5 items after I grabbed these items and beeline for the cash register of course I am on a 30min run since I have to be somewheres. So as I am waiting, and waiting and waiting...I knew something was wrong. There was an elderly lady frantically searching her pockets, bags etc. for $12.20 and finally said Oh just take the milk off then surely I will have enough since I can't find the $10 I had. Alright at this point I felt Sorry for her, REALLY Sorry and with my 5yr old in tow, What better opportunity for a lesson for her.
So I told the cashier to stop and the lady to just hold on and as I looked at this lady I said, Do you mind if I look through your bags and I will help you with this order.. So of course I was given a funny look, but she was like alright and as I continue to talk I said now Repeat everything I tell you back to the cashier.
So here I was digging through her bags and telling her price match milk $1.99, price match honey nut cheerios $1.99, etc....As I am working my way through her bags, I notice she was really getting excited by what I was doing and when I finished we had her total down to just under $8.xx. Just by Price Matching them. I wish I had the coupons with me then I would really dropped it though you know as I was sitting her thinking about it. You really just need to know your ads and what is on sale..coupons are just a bonus on top of that. With the knowledge of the ads it is amazing how we can help others and ourselves.
I have to say the bonus for me not just helping this lady out though what my little gal told me...k said, "Whoa Mom that was awesome helping her out"
