Buying a Car
- Arm yourself with facts
- know what you want; there is many websites that will give you advice on helping you choose what is best
- check car facts-
- carfax
- This will tell of you any problems with the vehicle, just get vin number
- recalls- recalls.gov
- Barter
- This is always the fun part, if you know the car history you can figure that into your price range.
Insurance
- shop around ask if there is any deals or special offer rates
- every time renewal comes up shop around (about 1hr of your time and almost all the time a major savings)
- sign up for AAA, membership varies though well worth it
- pays for towing
- side of road repair-flat tire, lock keys in car (man I tell you this is a plus, especially if you have kids)
- plus discounts for hotels, amusement parks, restraunts , etc.
Maintence
- Check for Recalls at recalls.gov
- vehicles
- car parts
- child safety
- Rebates
- I have saved lots doing it this way; many mechanics are willing to work with you if you have the parts available.
- I have gotten Free oil, windshield wipers, windshield fluids, etc
- You do have to pay out of pocket at first though in 2-3 weeks you have the money back.
