I am right handed and when we had our car accident that hand was crushed, so they inserted plates and screws into it, that was 4yrs ago and just a few weeks after it was inserted in one of the plates broke. We knew it needed to have surgery to remove it though one funds weren't there and two I was so tired of surgeries, therapy, etc. that I didn't get it done. So after many months I was able to gain at least 70% usage back into my hand where I was able to at least hold a plate and do some things with it. Then everything started going to pits about 2months ago and instead of keeping the use that I did have in fact I was losing it. This was about the time that I had taken a pretty nasty spill and got banged up pretty good. Well the Dr.'s thought everything was ok and that I just banged up my right hand pretty bad. The problem was every little bump from there out would cause massive swelling where the plate was broke in my hand and also the two good fingers that I had wasn't functioning like they should. When I had taken the fall on that right hand I had in fact pushed the broken plate into the nerves and ligaments which was starting to slice them.
So on Wednesday morning I head into surgery to take the plate out and will have no use to little use with it for at least 4wks. So until I figure out where everything is I am going to be limited with what I can do for a while. Thanks for being my loyal readers and will be back to posting soon.
