As a bzzAgent I love receiving new items to try, this time I was able to try Ball Park Beef Patty. Thanks to Ball Park and Bzz for sending me this item for us to try. The item that we picked to try was the Ball Park Beef & Onion patties. Well I do have to say this one through me loop for starters I am no fan of microwave food.
The Ball Park Beef Patties recommended microwave these for 2 to 3 min.
Alright so I did that and let me say I didn't like that...here is the reason why:
- They were extremely greasy and mid way through cooking I had to change the paper towel to finish cooking it.
- To us the hamburger tasted rubbery, you can taste some of flavor in them but just chewing it and tasting the grease, was another matter.
- We did taste some of the onions in it though the grease seemed to overpower it.
So on that note I still had a couple patties left so this is what I did with them:
We called it left over and what mom could grab.
Instead of cooking in the microwave I cooked these in a pan that sat on a rack and in bottom of pan was a little bit of water. So much better tasting and this time we were able to taste the flavors of the hamburger and it wasn't as greasy.
Here is what was in this dish
2-beef patties; cooked in a pan and diced up
3 potatoes baked and sliced
1 can of peas
Layer all on a plate.
Sauce:
1 c of cream of mushroom
1 sm container of greek yogurt
cook in small saucepan, whipping as it cook.
Then pour over the top and sprinkle on some cheeder cheese.
In cooking it this way it was a much better tasting meal and we were able to taste the flavor of the onion in the patties not just the grease. I personally will be cooking or grilling these instead of microwaving them.
