My World-Garage Renovations

So I shared a little bit about our trip to Canada and as soon as I can get my pictures to upload will post some more for you.  As you know we got back on Sunday night, day before memorial day.  What you didn't know! We arrived at 9:30 and pulled in and found a HUGE stack of shingles and a pallet of new shingles sitting in our yard. I tell you what from the front of my house clear to the back fence there was just a pathway through otherwise it looked like a Bomb hit. We basically ended up unloading our gear in the dining room, crashed in bed at 11pm and back up at 6:30 am and started shingling. We have been going full speed since we gotten back. So now that I am almost to the point I can get everyone up to speed and myself caught up.  You will be blasted by several posts, I will try to be nice about it though. So here is the first set-our garage renovations. As all of you know we already did the interior though not completed will show more later and you knew we were shingle though What you Didn't know! Is what we encountered doing the shingling on our garage. I know pictures tells more then words and yep in this case I totally agree.

This is the front of the garage to the left of the door is a fence this shot is what we found when we peeled away the fence. YEP Major overload of junk . The second picture is my dad I know it looks like he is swimming in it. It is about knee deep of Junk, vines and trees.

3hours later and this is what we have left

This is the window that you see in the first picture and yep it is covered with vines and trees.
We also encountered this issue.

You guessed it all that junk caused major rot issues in this wall.  So of course know we have to fix the wall on top of finishing the shingling job. So here is how we fixed it cut the rot and cover it now all I got to do is paint the silly thing.
Back on track now and onto shingling. What a hoot that was we had one side with 4 layers or asphalt shingle and one layer of wood shingles. Another side with 5 layers of asphalt shingles and another side with 4 layers of shingles. On top of that we had to re-sheave everything just to make the structure more sturdy.
We even had helpers to clean up the shingles and there was sure a lot of them. We had to fill anything we could wheelbarrow, buckets, boxes, etc. just to get it into the dumpster that I had haul in.

Finally the shingling is DONE....YEAH plus I got the junk off of my garage, two trees growing in my garage is now gone and now to really dive in and start the mega organization. BUT wait that isn't all we did in the last couple of weeks. Stay tuned to see what else shaken down at my house. :) By the way insurance is covering some and the rest of the $$ was paid in Cash. So no Debt on this garage as of yet. :)
