This is one review I really had a hard time pulling together. The biggest reason is honestly I couldn't not stomach this product, sorry. Being a bzzagent we got this product for free to try, so we tried the original morning star burgers.
This I can say was one that didn't go over very well in my house, as just a grilled burger, as you can see in the above picture. My 5yr old who loves veggies and fruits, didn't enjoy this item and pretty much buried it in anything she could find.To me this product didn't have flavor to it and second of all it was way to chewy for me, eating it like a burger, although I did figure out if you chopped it up and throw it into a casserole it does get eaten and you do get more veggies in it. I think part of that reason you don't taste it actually in the casserole since it was buried in a bunch of other items.
Overall if you are all for the vegan diet this would probably work for you. It just doesn't go well in a house that grew up with beef, lives in beef county and eats beef on a regular basis.
The product like I said before that we were able to try was the Morning Star Original grilled burgers. It states that it is 57% less fat then ground beef (I think we need this fat here) and excellent source of protein (I do have to agree if you can get it down). Overall it is an alright product though will not work in my house.
Now for the price of this item I do think here it is a bit high at $4.89 a box at Walmart, but what do you expect in a small community though finding it on sale and with a coupon would be better.
Now I do say they do have other products that maybe interesting to try though choice was limited to what we could find here in this town to try without driving a ways for it. So I wasn't able to try any other products and on that note I can't say what they tasted like, sorry.
You can head on over to Morning Star website for a list of their products, sign up for their newsletter to receive coupons, recipes and so much more.
