Well I sure feel like Tiger here jumping around and singing at the top of my lungs oh happy day, due to the fact of reality hitting me like a freight train. The last couple of months have been needless to say so full of fun though the best part is we didn't go into debt over any of it..no credit cards, no loans, nope nothing. Well pardon me though I have jumped ahead. So let me rewind and start from the beginning.
A Little over a month ago we got slammed with hail which did quit a number on our new truck it literally put a hole through the hood of it. Well since it needed fixed, we jumped on it no second thoughts and two weeks later we paid our deductible of $500 in Cash. This is when the first light bulb hit, as I was driving home it hit me Oh my goodness I just walked in and paid this guy in Cash, Literally CASH..no cards, no checks but Cash. Reality Check I couldn't of done this a year ago, oh yes I have been couponing and scrimping for 3yrs though we really didn't start pulling ourselves out of the hole until this year and to be honest even the reality of paying cash for all the renovations that we did this summer didn't hit me until then. Then two weeks ago we had our wonderful hot water tank go which cost us $900 for it, again I whipped out the entire amount in cash, no need for credit cards and our emergency tank was built enough to cover it though how many of us can actually say we have emergency tank built up.
Yes saving does seem overwhelming and so does couponing though with dedication and life style changes a whole different world opens up for you. For some you may see results overnight or for others it may take longer though don't get discourage it does pay off.
For us it took 3 long hard years though we are seeing the results in the extreme now and funny thing is we were told from a credit counselor 3yrs ago when you file for bankruptcy it will take you years to recover. I am literally laughing over this with God grace and wisdom we have done it in less time and now we don't have to worry about when the bills are paid or where money is coming from. We are now planning vacations, family outings and so much more and the greatest gift is walking into a store and paying for an item without flinching from it. So for those who are struggle, do be patient it will work out.
