For us, yes it was a big factor. 5 yrs ago we bought a fixer upper home in the intent that we would do the work ourselves unfortunately 3 1/2 yrs ago we were involved in a bad car accident. We had one income, minium wage and less then 40hrs and yep we did this renovation above.
With lots of help from family we did all the sweat and labor ourselves. We starting planning this project Last March and paid it all with Cash. Total Cost for entire project was $1, 496.xx, Saved 4,440.xx if we hired labor.
